1. Gather plastic bags3. Smooth each bag flat, lining up corners, handles, and bottoms3. Fold the 5 bags in half lengthwis
2. Sort like colors together4. Take 5 bags flattened and smoothed and fold in half lengthwise5. Line bags up to ruler so the main part of the bag equals 12 inches after its cut
6. After measuring in step 5, Cut off the bottom section7. Cut off the handles. The remaining body of the bag should be approx 12 inches in length8. Cut in 3-inch lengths (or adjust to make 4 sections)
Side note: 3 inch strips are a good size for heavier, thicker bags. Examples of thicker bags: Target and Department stores, especially holiday seasons.
4 inch strips work well and give a fluffier mat when using thinner bags. Examples of thinner bags: Walmart, Grocery, Home Depot, Lowe’s.
9.
